Over the weekend Rylee went to a birthday party for one of her girlfriends. All the kids got together to decorate gingerbread houses. Obviously Rylee was eating the ENTIRE time, but she did manage to get some candy on her house (with the help of mama!). Here are a few pics.
Last month we took Rylee on her first airplane and vacationed in Denver for a few days. One of the highlights of our trip was a visit to the Denver Zoo. We weren't expecting much since there was snow on the ground, but to our surprise, this zoo was the best we'd ever visited. They had tons of animals and we couldnt believe how close you were able to get to some of them (especially the giraffes!)Here are some pictures from our trip.
Rylee had a BLAST on Halloween! She loved seeing all her neighbor friends dressed up and had fun knocking on doors saying "Trick or Treat"! We hung out at our neighbor's block party for a while where Ry ate the most candy she's ever eaten in her entire life! So, she enjoyed her first sugar high and spent a good hour or two running around with her buddies. She also loved handing out candy to the kids that knocked on our door and said "Trick or Treat" to everyone that she handed candy too. Here are a few pics of our little Minnie.
We had the chance to take Rylee to Disneyland this week. To say she LOVED it would be a huge understatement. Her favorite part of the trip was probably meeting Minnie and touring her house. She also visited Mickey's house and met Pluto. We took her on a few rides, but Buzz Lightyear was her fav. Here are a few photos.
Rylee has been growing A LOT lately. And it's not just her physical stature that is changing- Rylee is learning nonstop. She's got new words and phrases nearly everyday and it is constantly keeping us on our toes. Long gone are the days when she would sit still and smile for pictures. The girl won't dare look at me long enough so I can take a decent photo. If I ever do get her looking at the camera, it's simply because I screamed and made noises like a crazy person to get her attention. That probably explains why she's giving me "the look" in most pictures nowadays. Enjoy :)
Rylee has shown a big interest in coloring lately. While she doesn't always color on the paper (IE bathtub, sliding glass door, walls, the inside of the closet, etc) she seems to really enjoy herself! So, when we saw a sale on finger paints, we decided to give it a whirl. She loved it!!
Auntie Linnie came to visit a few days ago so we took Rylee to what is known as "Baby Beach." It was a Tuesday afternoon and there were still about 100 kids and babies there. It's located in a harbor, so there aren't really any waves which makes it easy for the kids to play in the water. Every once in a while, a current would come through and knock Rylee flat on her face. She came out of the water giggling everytime! She had a great time.
We've been talking a lot with Rylee about the potty in the last week. After seeing one of her friends use a toilet, she has become mildly obsessed. She wants to watch anyone who is using the bathroom (obviously not a good habit) and talks about "peepee" fairly regularly. The other day I heard her yelling "Mama, Mama...hahaha!". I walked into the bathroom to find this:
Ryan recently bought Rylee some legos and she has loved trying to build things. And, with all the cool weather we've been having, it's something fun for her to do inside. Although the rain hasn't necessarily kept her in. She all the sudden has a new obsession with water and loves being outside- especially if it means getting wet!
