Happy Birthday Rylee Girl!

Earlier this month Rylee turned two. I can hardly believe she has only been in our lives for two years, because I feel like she's been my little girl for a lifetime. I absolutely can't imagine life without her.

Rylee had a blast at her party. She loved playing with her friends and she especially LOVED when everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to her. I've even caught her a handful of times quietly singing it to herself since her party.

From opening presents to jumping in the bounce house, our sweet rylee girl had a smile on her face the entire party. Happy birthday to my favorite girl in the whole world!

Happy First Month Little Man Cade!

Today is Cade's one month birthday. I feel like he has been with us for so much longer than a month already!

He's been a pretty good sleeper so far- usually just waking up twice a night. He holds his head up so much! Although he is still super wobbly, he has impressed many of us with his strength and stability already! His eyes are starting to look a bit bluer and his hair color varies by the lighting. Although, mark my words, he will be as blonde as his sister by the time his first birthday rolls around!

His favorite time of day is usually the late afternoon and his least favorite time is between 7-10 pm, as evidenced by his crying. Ironically enough, 7-10 pm is also our least favorite time of day! ;)

Rylee isn't scared when he cries anymore. Instead of asking us to hold him, she just says "It's okay Cade". She loves watching him and would love nothing more than to push him in his swing and pop his paci in his month, neither of which she is permitted to do just yet ;)

Life is busy and everyday is flying by so quickly, but of course I wouldn't trade the sleepless nights or constant smell of spit up for any of it. Happy One Month Birthday Baby Cade!

Starbucks Saturdays

One of our favorite things to do on the weekends is to walk to the local Starbucks to sip coffee and chat on the patio. Rylee LOVES the employees at Starbucks (who all know her by name) and she enjoys throwing food to the birds (shhh...) and watching the cars drive by.

Here is a look at our typical Saturday morning.

Introducing Cade Michael Peters

Rylee decided it would be okay to share her blog with her little brother :)

Cade was born on January 6th & Rylee has really enjoyed having him around. While she is still adjusting to sharing her mama & dada, she already does a great job looking out for her little brother. Whenever Cade cries, she either tells me he's hungry or asks Ryan or I to hold him. He's the first person she asks for when she wakes up from her naps and at least once a day she stands over him and yells "Open eyes Cade"!

Here are a few pictures of our sweet little man & his loving big sis

A Cupcake Date

Rylee has a counting book that uses girly things like bracelets, tiaras and cupcakes to teach numbers. Her favorite page is number 8 because that is the cupcake page. She could stare at that page for 20 minutes telling me which of her family & friends get to eat which cupcake.

So while we were out running errands today we thought it would be sweet to stop in a local bakery & let her pick a cupcake. I told her she could eat it once we got home and she woke up from her nap. The instant she woke up, she was already asking for her cupcake. She could hardly wait to eat it!

Ry's First Gingerbread House

Over the weekend Rylee went to a birthday party for one of her girlfriends. All the kids got together to decorate gingerbread houses. Obviously Rylee was eating the ENTIRE time, but she did manage to get some candy on her house (with the help of mama!). Here are a few pics.

Trip to Denver, Part One

Last month we took Rylee on her first airplane and vacationed in Denver for a few days. One of the highlights of our trip was a visit to the Denver Zoo. We weren't expecting much since there was snow on the ground, but to our surprise, this zoo was the best we'd ever visited. They had tons of animals and we couldnt believe how close you were able to get to some of them (especially the giraffes!)Here are some pictures from our trip.
