Earlier this week, we ditched our usual dinner-baths-books-bedtime schedule and ventured off to pick out a Christmas Tree. Rylee was WAY more into the decorations than picking a tree. Ryan was WAY into picking a tree- we got our tallest one yet! Which didn't necessarily end up being the greatest because Ryan had to throw the thing onto our car and tie it all by himself. (Why wait for someone when you can just do it yourself?) I wish I had pictures of that, but my job was entertaining the children in the car!
In other news, Rylee is cracking me up today and I thought I might as well note her funny phrases somewhere so I can remember them.
Earlier I told her she was about to get herself into trouble and she said, "Why mama, am I being too sassy???"
While eating her lunch, Glock started barking. She looked out the window and yelled, "Calm down killa." OH MAN. Love her, haha!

Let's Play Catch Up!
So it's here. That moment when both your kids are into everything, running all over, causing lots of mayhem--and you hardly have time to sneak away for a quick potty stop! Did I just say potty?? Ahh, there it is again. That moment when you realize the majority of your time is spent with two under 3 and you're starting to talk just like them. Anyway, things are crazy and I don't have time to blog like I used too. So, here is a big catch up post on everything we've been up too!
Cade hates blueberries
Rylee is as cute as ever
...and is getting very possessive of her Starbucks cards. Hmm, where did she learn that?
Cade is pulling himself up on everything! He even climbed up our entire staircase!
Rylee is crazy obsessed with the Disney Princesses! Especially Cinderella.
Cade is looking more and more like his Dad. Even on paper!
What he would look like if he didn't have POOF hair. Seriously at least once a week I get a "Woah, look at that hairstyle" comment.
The POOF in all it's glory
Do you see that guinea pig??? Apparently the kids don't....
Rylee and her "Pumpkin Baby". Everything is a baby nowadays. Every time we're at Starbucks she carries the coffee bean bags around like their babies.
Snack time at the park
Oh yes, we do still have the dogs! Poor guys never get any blogtime. Well, unless they get hurt! Here you go Glock! Show 'em what you've got. Just chillin in the sun with his "cast" as Rylee calls it :)

Halloween 2012
I'm sure most of you have seen our Halloween pictures already, but I wanted to put them all together in one place. We had an awesome Halloween, and the kids had a great time too! Rylee loved trick or treating with all her friends and each time she got candy she said "Can we go to another house mama?!". Cade traveled in style in his Superman car and was very intrigued by all the yelling and screaming the kids were doing.
We hosted all the neighborhood littles at our house and Rylee and her friends LOVED handing out candy to all the kids. Although, Rylee was definitely confused when kids first began trick or treating at our home. She said "Hey, what you guys doing? This is my house!! Silly!!". But, it didn't take long for her to realize what was happening! Here are pictures to share.
Check out this picture. Last year, that entire bottom row wasn't even here yet. And we already have two new babies that have RSVP'd for next Halloween! We are a growing bunch and love it!
And we got in on the fun together too.

Fall
Here are a few pictures of the kids at a pumpkin patch we recently visited. Well, actually, most of the pictures are of Rylee. She was so excited to go on all the rides. She wasn't technically tall enough, but no one was technically checking so we rolled with it.

Aquarium Visit
A few weeks ago my mom and sister took us to the Long Beach Aquarium. One of Rylee's favorite parts was feeding the birds their "juice" (picture below). We loved watching the otters and seeing the penguins as well. They had a little pretend medical center where you could evaluate stuffed animals using a medical chart and Ry had a blast with that too.
In all honesty, I can't quite remember what else we did there. But, that pretty much sums up where we are at right now. I found a box of opened corn dogs (YES corn dogs- that belong in the freezer) in my pantry this morning. I won't even try to deny that my brain is in 10 different places at once on most days. I didn't tell Ryan about that one yet. I try to share only one crazy story a day so he doesn't think I'm completely insane. Not sure if that is really working though...

Mini Update!
Eating at the dinner table is not the easiest task with two little ones. I won't lie, many dinners are eaten on the floor where Cade can crawl around and Rylee can roam free. One day we will all have wonderful family dinners together, but that time just isn't now. And, I'm okay with that. Here is a picture from our first & only family dinner where we all sat at the same table. To be honest, I'm not sure we even made it through the entire dinner. We're picking and choosing our battles nowadays, and this battle is not one I'd like to fight now. :)
More eating pictures...
We went to a carnival and of all the butterflies and unicorns and stars, Rylee wanted a spider. She would constantly look down at it and say "He's tickling me!!!"
Cade's first trip to the beach. It's not a great picture, but I took both the kids on my own (not the best idea I ever had). So, my ability to keep one child from throwing sand all over and the other from eating it pretty much ruled out any opportunity of getting a cute picture!
And this girl? Tanner then both her parents. Looks like she might have her Papa Mike's skin. Ryan said that makes him nervous. Me too!

We're Still Here!
Things have been busy lately, can you tell? Or perhaps you're so busy with your own Summer plans you didn't happen to notice this little blog has been waiting here, update-less, while we play in the sun, sand and water. Ooops!
I have lots of pictures to come- aquarium visits, vacations, beach days- and the usual day-to-day fun we tend to sneak in. The kids had their first photo shoot last week. Not my favorite experience, but still entertaining! Rylee wasn't a fan of the poses they wanted her to do and insisted on having a hand on her hip and her mouth open wide for most pictures. But that's okay- those ones turned out good too!
Here is a little sneak peek. It blows my mind how red Cade's hair looks!! When looking at in person, it's blonde as can be. I think his little red tint is trying to hang on for as long as it can!

6 Months
Last week Cade turned 6 months old. It's crazy to think we are already half way to his first birthday!! He has changed so much in such a brief period. When I think of him, the first thing that comes to mind is his huge smile. I love going into his room when he first awakes because he gets so excited. Sometimes I let Rylee sneak in first and I love hearing him squealing and giggling the moment he sees her.
Cade is just a few ounces short of 18 lbs & quite tall for his age. When I tell people his age, the frequent response is "well he's a big boy". He is in 9 month clothes and only one diaper size away from his big sister. He has two bottom teeth just about ready to break through the gums. He has tried a huge variety of foods so far including squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, green beans, peaches and pears. He refuses to eat rice cereal, so I mix it into all his foods instead. He sits by himself pretty well & gets better each & everyday.
Here are some pics of the big guy.
Trying very hard to look up at the TV
This is the bassinet he slept in when he was born. I keep it downstairs because it's always been a great place to lie him when I need to do dishes or shoot out an email. He was SO excited when he figured out how to sit up in it.
And, his very first ferris wheel ride (it was mandatory he had his own seat)
