Bring on the FUN!!!

No offense to newborns (I was one once!), but you guys aren't the funnest! Cutest? Yes! Cuddliest? You bet! But there isn't anything too fun about changing lots of diapers and losing lots of sleep for a baby that screams & cries no matter what you do. But, at 7 weeks old, Cade is giving us lots of smiles & giggles & coos & all the sweet faces that make sleepless nights so worth it!!

The Potty Trials

Well, Miss Rylee no longer owns diapers. Seriously, she threw them all away (minus a few I tucked away for the neighbors!). But its okay, it was all apart of this intense 3-day potty training program we started over the weekend.

After hearing way too many moms rave about the program, I finally decided to give it a try. You go straight from diapers to undies without ever buying pull ups or trainers or any other "crutch". You are essentially trapped in the house all 3 days, minus the two times we cheated. So, we played lots of Minnie Mouse, watched movies, painted our nails, made cupcakes & took way too many pictures. Today is day 3 & we are officially accident free :)

And this one is my least favorite. Is this a preview of 10 years from now????

Posing & Playing

Rylee has always liked looking at herself in the mirror, but recently she has started staring at herself and making funny faces. She stops as soon as anyone notices so I haven't successfully taken any pictures yet.

Here are some pictures of my fav girl posing for me and playing with her food :)

Bonding Time

Ry has slowly started taking an interest in her brother. The other night she was so excited to see him sitting up in the Bumbo. As soon as she saw me taking pictures of him, she knew she didn't want to miss out on the fun and quickly grabbed a sit next too him!

Happy Birthday Rylee Girl!

Earlier this month Rylee turned two. I can hardly believe she has only been in our lives for two years, because I feel like she's been my little girl for a lifetime. I absolutely can't imagine life without her.

Rylee had a blast at her party. She loved playing with her friends and she especially LOVED when everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to her. I've even caught her a handful of times quietly singing it to herself since her party.

From opening presents to jumping in the bounce house, our sweet rylee girl had a smile on her face the entire party. Happy birthday to my favorite girl in the whole world!

Happy First Month Little Man Cade!

Today is Cade's one month birthday. I feel like he has been with us for so much longer than a month already!

He's been a pretty good sleeper so far- usually just waking up twice a night. He holds his head up so much! Although he is still super wobbly, he has impressed many of us with his strength and stability already! His eyes are starting to look a bit bluer and his hair color varies by the lighting. Although, mark my words, he will be as blonde as his sister by the time his first birthday rolls around!

His favorite time of day is usually the late afternoon and his least favorite time is between 7-10 pm, as evidenced by his crying. Ironically enough, 7-10 pm is also our least favorite time of day! ;)

Rylee isn't scared when he cries anymore. Instead of asking us to hold him, she just says "It's okay Cade". She loves watching him and would love nothing more than to push him in his swing and pop his paci in his month, neither of which she is permitted to do just yet ;)

Life is busy and everyday is flying by so quickly, but of course I wouldn't trade the sleepless nights or constant smell of spit up for any of it. Happy One Month Birthday Baby Cade!

Starbucks Saturdays

One of our favorite things to do on the weekends is to walk to the local Starbucks to sip coffee and chat on the patio. Rylee LOVES the employees at Starbucks (who all know her by name) and she enjoys throwing food to the birds (shhh...) and watching the cars drive by.

Here is a look at our typical Saturday morning.
