A few weeks ago my mom and sister took us to the Long Beach Aquarium. One of Rylee's favorite parts was feeding the birds their "juice" (picture below). We loved watching the otters and seeing the penguins as well. They had a little pretend medical center where you could evaluate stuffed animals using a medical chart and Ry had a blast with that too.
In all honesty, I can't quite remember what else we did there. But, that pretty much sums up where we are at right now. I found a box of opened corn dogs (YES corn dogs- that belong in the freezer) in my pantry this morning. I won't even try to deny that my brain is in 10 different places at once on most days. I didn't tell Ryan about that one yet. I try to share only one crazy story a day so he doesn't think I'm completely insane. Not sure if that is really working though...

Mini Update!
Eating at the dinner table is not the easiest task with two little ones. I won't lie, many dinners are eaten on the floor where Cade can crawl around and Rylee can roam free. One day we will all have wonderful family dinners together, but that time just isn't now. And, I'm okay with that. Here is a picture from our first & only family dinner where we all sat at the same table. To be honest, I'm not sure we even made it through the entire dinner. We're picking and choosing our battles nowadays, and this battle is not one I'd like to fight now. :)
More eating pictures...
We went to a carnival and of all the butterflies and unicorns and stars, Rylee wanted a spider. She would constantly look down at it and say "He's tickling me!!!"
Cade's first trip to the beach. It's not a great picture, but I took both the kids on my own (not the best idea I ever had). So, my ability to keep one child from throwing sand all over and the other from eating it pretty much ruled out any opportunity of getting a cute picture!
And this girl? Tanner then both her parents. Looks like she might have her Papa Mike's skin. Ryan said that makes him nervous. Me too!

We're Still Here!
Things have been busy lately, can you tell? Or perhaps you're so busy with your own Summer plans you didn't happen to notice this little blog has been waiting here, update-less, while we play in the sun, sand and water. Ooops!
I have lots of pictures to come- aquarium visits, vacations, beach days- and the usual day-to-day fun we tend to sneak in. The kids had their first photo shoot last week. Not my favorite experience, but still entertaining! Rylee wasn't a fan of the poses they wanted her to do and insisted on having a hand on her hip and her mouth open wide for most pictures. But that's okay- those ones turned out good too!
Here is a little sneak peek. It blows my mind how red Cade's hair looks!! When looking at in person, it's blonde as can be. I think his little red tint is trying to hang on for as long as it can!
